FULL-TIME INDETERMINATE EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT/ASSISTANT TO THE CORPORATE SECRETARY
(unionized position - Ottawa)
The Association of Justice Counsel (AJC) is the bargaining agent for over 3000 lawyers who work for the Government of Canada, including counsel with the Department of Justice, Public Prosecution Service of Canada, and numerous federal agencies. THE POSITION AND SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE
You have a diploma in office administration or equivalent field, a minimum of five years’ experience in providing executive level administrative support to help the Corporate Secretary with the proper and effective conduct of Executive and Board meetings.
You will also provide executive assistance support to the President and Executive Director as required.
You are committed to union principles.
You have a keen interest or skill set in relation to governance matters.
You have experience in coordinating meetings and meeting logistics, minute taking, drafting meeting documents, scheduling and general administrative functions.
You act as the primary point of contact for board members’ general and IT inquiries.
You exercise sound judgment, possess strong interpersonal, problem-solving, and communication skills.
You may be required to provide back up support to other positions. You will also liaise with third party service providers and federal IT departments, for example.
You possess strong organizational, administrative and time management skills and are able to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
You are proficient in MS Office, MS Teams, Zoom and have a demonstrated ability to work both independently and effectively in a team environment.

MANDATORY LANGUAGE REQUIREMENT: Fluently Bilingual (English/French)
SALARY: $51,880-74,594
GROUP BENEFITS: Health, Dental, Life, Disability
PENSION PLAN: CAAT
VACATION: 4 weeks/year to start in addition to December holiday season and other paid leave
