AJC Files Policy Grievance in Response to Updated Workplace Directive

Tuesday, September 10, 2024

The AJC strongly disagrees with the Employer’s unilaterally imposed Directive on Prescribed Presence. We will continue our advocacy on all fronts to support our members and oppose the Employer’s action.

After consideration, the AJC has withdrawn from further consultation meetings with the Employer on telework, as the Employer has demonstrated through its behaviours that these are not meaningful consultations. We will reconsider this decision when the Employer agrees to approach these consultations with the sincerity it requires.

The AJC has filed a policy grievance challenging the directive due to the Employer’s lack of meaningful consultation and other significant violations of our Collective Agreement.

Today, the AJC issued this press release.

There will be more to come on our telework advocacy in the coming days and weeks. The AJC is committed to representing our members’ collective interests and advocating for presence with a purpose, where physical attendance in the workplace is determined by the specific needs of the work and the team, rather than an arbitrary directive.
